Read about Johan Andersen who graduated from the BIDS programme in 2015 with a major in sociology. Johan has now decided to further study the field of sociology within his current Master studies in Nationalism Studies at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest.
During the 6th semester of the BIDS programme Johan did an interesting internship that included country specific academic writing assignments, which allowed him to use skills gained from the BIDS programme.
Astrid Fabrin tells that after her graduation from BIDS in 2015, she was very confused about the endless options she could potentially pursue. She decided to travel for a while, and is now about to finish another bachelor degree in Social Anthropology. During BIDS, she majored in Human Geography and conducted minor field studies in Kenya. Astrid encourages future graduates to “find some work that actually helps people!”
Laura Heiberg, class of 2015, was one of the founders of the BIDS Alumni online network. She tells us about what she’s currently doing just few months after her graduation. During BIDS, Laura majored in Human Geography, conducted MFS in Kenya, and received the Hydén Award for the best bachelor’s thesis on socio-economic and political issues in low- and middle-income countries.
