Alumni spotlight #21 Johan Andersen

in Nationalism Studies at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest.
During the 6th semester of the BIDS programme Johan did an interesting internship that included country specific academic writing assignments, which allowed him to use skills gained from the BIDS programme.

Alumni Spotlight #20 Milja Norberg

Read about Milja Norberg who graduated in 2014 with a major in Economic History. The flexibility of the Economic History Department allowed her to spend a year in Lebanon in the middle of the early refugee crises. Among other interesting points, Milja writes that in the field of development, “it is easy to be critical, but not as easy to come up with better alternatives”.

Astrid

Astrid Fabrin tells that after her graduation from BIDS in 2015, she was very confused about the endless options she could potentially pursue. She decided to travel for a while, and is now about to finish another bachelor degree in Social Anthropology. During BIDS, she majored in Human Geography and conducted minor field studies in Kenya.  Astrid encourages future graduates to “find some work that actually helps people!”

Spotlight Special: Hannah and Yannick speak about their exchange experiences in Brazil and Hong Kong

Hannah and I from the class of 2016 went on exchange to the far-away countries of Brazil and Hong Kong respectively and came away with most different experiences and lessons learnt. Alumni Spotlight #14 Hanna Norelius

HHanna_Noreliusanna Norelius, a BIDS graduate from the class of 2014 with a major in Political Science, has put her experience from BIDS to use in internships in Malawi and Kenya. Only there she has found her passion for health-related issues, which she now pursues at Copenhagen University with a master programme in Global Health. “Have an open mind and take the opportunities you get”, is her advice to future graduates.
